Hello Third Trimester!

On Monday the babies turned 28 weeks, which means I am officially in my third trimester! It is very exciting to know we are in the home stretch! We had quite a week this week with two doctor appointments. On Wednesday I saw my MFM who told us that the boys are weighing 2 lbs, 15 oz and 2 lbs and 10 oz, which is right on (or a little ahead) of schedule. It's no surprise that strangers are starting to ask me if I am "about ready to pop" as I have about 6 pounds of baby hanging out in there! The boys are looking great; we got some 3D pictures of their faces, although part of their faces are covered (the doctor said they are covered by the other baby).

Don't worry if you can't make out the faces, I think they are like Magic Eye pictures; if you stare at it long enough, you'll see a face, LOL! Ryan and I can make out eyes and noses, but of course we were there when the doctor explained what we were looking at!

On Friday I saw my OB and had my one hour glucose tolerance test to see if I have gestational diabetes. I should be getting the results back early next week because if I fail the one hour test, I have to take a 3 hour test to confirm whether or not I have gestational diabetes. I really hope I don't, but am slightly worried since I have a family history of diabetes. This is the lovely glucose solution I had to drink; it actually wasn't too bad though!

I will start to see my OB every two weeks now instead of monthly, which is a further reminder that we are close to the end! At every appointment now I will have a non stress test, which is actually for the babies, not me (which is a good thing, I don't know if I could pass a non stress test!). They will hook me up to sensors to monitor the babies' heartrates and contractions just to make sure they are doing okay in there.

In other news, Ryan has put the cribs together with his own two hands! I will take better pictures once we get the nursery closer to completion, but here is a preview of one of the cribs (and the dressers that are behind it)

I am doing okay, I just get tired very easily. It will probably only be a few weeks before I throw in the towel and take off from work before the babies arrive, but I will hang in there as long as I can!

Until next time!
